DrivewayWalk

Tucson · Pima County · then anywhere in the US

Walk the car in the driveway. Leave with official facts and a photo packet.

Built for the person standing next to a Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace car in Tucson — or a private seller who wants the same packet before they list. You pay $29. We never take a cut of the sale.

What you actually get

  • Official lookups

NHTSA vPIC decode, year/make/model campaigns, complaints, 5-star if it exists, EPA MPG range. Cited on the report. Not Carfax. Not NMVTIS.

  • A station-by-station walk

Identity, paper, flood red flags from AZDOT, body, lights, tires, interior, underhood, Tucson heat, optional road notes. One station at a time on your phone.

  • A fact pack PDF + photo ZIP

Unwatermarked photos. Filename DW_VIN_date.pdf. Arizona next steps: title in 15 days, Title Viewer, Area B emissions, salvage disclosure.

Who pays

The person at the car. Almost always a private-party buyer. Sometimes a seller preparing a listing. Charge that person. Never a percentage of the car.

One walk is $29. If you are shopping several cars this month, $12/month. Restore or cancel the subscription from your dashboard — no dark patterns.

Tucson first, then the federal stack

Arizona & Pima

  • Title within 15 days (A.R.S. § 28-2058). Private seller Sold Notice in 10 days (ADOT 46-8502) — on the report, not a walk blocker.
  • Flood checks from AZDOT and NHTSA’s hurricane/flood page. Clean-title flood cars exist.
  • Salvage disclosure before sale (A.R.S. §§ 28-2091, 28-2095). Flood is a salvage reason, not a brand table we invent.
  • Area B emissions via myAZcar / ADEQ. Five-year / 1966 / electric exemptions. We link; we do not scrape.
  • A private Facebook seller is not a dealer. AZ dealer = 4 used vehicles in 12 months (§ 44-1261). Lemon law does not apply to a private used sale.

Anywhere in the US

  • NHTSA vPIC, recalls, complaints, 5-star.
  • EPA/DOE fuel economy as a YMM range — no VIN→MPG.
  • FTC Buyers Guide — dealers only. Private as-is is UCC § 47-2316.
  • Tire age from the DOT week/year (49 CFR 574.5). Tread: NHTSA TireWise 2/32 in. No fake AZ 2/32 law.
  • IIHS as a link. Stars vs G/A/M/P are different tests. A 2012 Good is not a 2026 Good.

Hard walk-aways we will flag

Flags are decision aids from what you recorded plus official campaign lists. They are not a mechanical finding and not a probability the car will fail.

  • VIN on the plate ≠ VIN on the door sticker
  • Airbag lamp stays on
  • NHTSA park-it / park-outside campaign — still confirm this VIN at NHTSA
  • Salvage not disclosed (A.R.S. §§ 28-2091, 28-2095)
  • Flood cluster (AZDOT + NHTSA water flags)
  • Tires 10+ years old, or cords showing
  • Brake lamps inoperative
